Salt Fork Lake

Salt Fork Lake is 3,000 acres of water located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and surrounded by Ohio’s largest state park. There is also the largest inland beach in Ohio for swimming and sunning. Near the beach are miniature golf, basketball courts and playgrounds. Picnic tables and grills are available in nine scenic locations spread around the lake, all wheelchair accessible. There are trails that will lead you through glorious wildflowers in the forests and meadow, including more than 20 miles of equestrian trails.

The lake is a great place for anglers with plenty of muskie, largemouth bass, walleye, channel catfish and sunfish. But here’s the difference from some other lakes: It has no-wake zones for kayaks and canoes and designated areas for waterskiing.

The lake is busy in the winter also. Visitors come to sled, cross-country ski, snowmobile, ice skate, ice fish and ice boat.
