Big Lake is a wonderful recreational lake during both the winter and summer seasons.  This massive lake is located just 60 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska.  During the summer swimming, camping, fishing, and boating are all popular.  During the winter months, you can snow mobile, ice fish, and cross country ski across the frozen lake.

There are three recreational areas located around the lake including Big Lake North State Recreation Site, Big Lake South State Recreation Site, and Rocky Lake State Recreation Site.
